Proposal:
The overall playground is divided into three zones, where the youngest ones are playing in the deepest shadow of the trees, but all the kids are put away at the safe distance from the street. The materialization of the hills is based on wooden materials – the longitudinal sound barrier is made of standard wooden laths, while the platform is covered in wooden decking and/or composite wood-like material, while the safety surface for the playground is completely covered in mulch. The inlay of the wooden barrier is made of several year-round types of plants, thus being evergreen.
Design of the playground completely follows the EU standards, hence the needs of the toddlers and their parents are fully met. The highlight of the project is the sound barrier, together with the platform that is transforming itself starting from a seating bench, through a kids tunnel and ending as a plateau supporting the most attractive toy – aerial runway passing through the trees. By designing the sound barrier as a modular system and by leaving the side fences open, the adjoining zones of the green area are left for further development and are anticipating new cultural and kids venues.
